Making Perfect Pastry is an art form that everyone should learn, there are many types of pastry, some made with oil others with butter but the key to any good pastry is knowing how to handle it and how to work it.
Our chef with over 20 years of professional cooking experience will show you how to make a number of different types of pastry, such as the Roux Brothers Rough Puff Pastry, Hot Water Pie Crust Pastry, the Classic French Sweet Pastry......
In this class we cover the four cornerstones of pastry, giving you a great foundation if you are a beginner, but you may have some experience in making Flaky Pastry but want to know why it's not "short" enough or why it cracks when you roll it, this is the class for you.
Crumbling - rolling - mixing - creaming - when to blind bake, when not too- best egg wash for a perfect glaze and many more skills will be shown.
We also break for a sit down lunch where you will get to sample, some of chefs real butter pastry.
Just make sure you have room in your fridge, as you will take home a good number of pies, tarts and pastry to sample at a later date.
